Religion Review-Chapters 1-3
Below please find the information your child must know for the religion test which will take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2009. Students will be tested on chapters 1-3 which they have been learning in class. Please review this information at home with your child.
Chapter 1-God made all things
- God made the world and created everything in it.
- God loves us, cares for us and filled our world with many things.
- Everything God made is good and all things are gifts from God.
- God gave us the sky, the land and water.
Chapter 2-God gives us light
- God made the sun and gave us this wonderful gift to help us. The sun gives us light during the day.
- God made the moon and the stars because he wanted us to have light at night.
- The moon and the stars brighten our nights.
- Different activities can be done during the daytime when the sun is out such as coming to school, taking a walk or going to the park.
- Different activities can be done during the night time when the moon and the stars are out such as reading a bedtime story or spending time at home with your family.
Chapter 3-God gives us water
- God’s gift of water can be found everywhere such as lakes, rivers and oceans.
- Some of the ways that we use water to stay healthy is by drinking water and using water to wash ourselves.
- Some of the ways that we can use water for fun are by swimming or playing with a sprinkler at a playground.
- Water is important for plants and people because plants and people need water to live.
- God wants us to use his gift of water with care by not polluting our water (ex. Not throwing trash into ponds, rivers and oceans or saving water when it is not being used.)
