Reminders
Phonics quiz on Tuesday, students should know letter sound correspondence and initial, medial, and ending sounds. I am still collecting $4.00 for the class Christmas party if you haven't contributed already. Tuesday the 7th and 8th grades will have a bake sale, if you can please send your child with at least $1.00 to purchase something. I will be needing plastic bags to pack students stuff as our classroom floors will be shined and winter cleaning will take place, all materials from inside of desks and seat sacks will need to be put away in the shopping bags you provide. A short homework packet will be assigned during the christmas break. Wednesday lessons and carols in the church will be held at 8:30 am parents are invited to join us for a joyful celebration. Students should have dress clothes and should resemble Christmas colors red, green, or white. School will be closed from Dec.20 and class resumes Jan.3, 2019. I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Tuesday math test on Module 2 on two and three dimensional shapes, students should be able to identify the name and shape and know about the shape for e.g. number of corners or sides, and or flat surfaces, or curved etc. Students should be practicing sight words on a weekly basis so that they ensure academic progress. This week I will be sending books in a ziplock bag in hopes that students begin to practice their reading skills and become fluent readers by the end of Kindergarten. 1 large pencil case to fit crayons, glue sticks, pencil, scissor, erasers, etc.

1 activity book (academic, skills e.g. math, reading)
2 reams of white printing paper
2 boxes of tissue
1 lysol or clorox dispensing wipes
1 bottle of disinfecting liquid hand soap

A change of clothes (underwear, socks, pants, and shirt in case of accident/sick) please place these clothes in a large ziplock back and label it with your child's name.

Monday April 30, Early Dismissal at 12:00 noon, after school program available if needed. Math test on addition and subtraction on Wednesday May 2, please study with your child. Pearson realize testing on Friday on Unit 5 module b. Next week I will be giving a sight word assessment. Please see me about any issues regarding children in the class, as it has been brought to my attention. Reminders
Sight Word assessment this week Wednesday. No new sight words will be given this week as it is a short week. I will be collecting $3.00 for a pizza party on Friday for our Easter celebration. I also ask you to please bring sturdy plastic bags by Wednesday as we will be packing up for the spring break recess. Homework will be assigned and it is imperative that students practice over the spring break. Thursday school will be closed for a Teacher training. Friday Passion play in the church at 8:30 am parents are welcomed to join us. Easter break will start from March 24 thru April 8, school resumes April 9. A reminder to parents that drop off and pick up times are not appropriate times to discuss classroom concerns, or concerns with your child, if you feel you need to speak to me please make an appointment with Alba in the office.

Please log into pearson realize and finish assignments. MAP skills is a new site students will need to log into at home, to reinforce reading and math skills this is provided by MAP Test. I am aware that many students do not  log into any of the websites I have provided parents with. Its unfortunate because students fall behind and are not able to practice on necessary skills. It is imperative that students do practice these skills at home whenever possible.

Tuesday February 13 students will be performing their Valentines day songs at 9:00 am,  students are to wear dress clothes for their musical presentation. Wednesday is Ash Wednesday students may wear red and I will buy pizza for lunch no party just a pizza lunch in observance of Ash Wednesday.
