Reminders
Math test on Thursday on chapter one numbers 1-5 be able to count, write and recognize the word for that number. Friday October 3,2014 children may dress down and bring $1.00 donation. Mass at 9:00 am students are allowed to bring pets to classroom if they are not a cat or dog otherwise those pets must be brought by a parent or guardian during the Mass and leave with the parent or guardian after the mass, parents or family are invited to join us for Mass. Homework will be posted daily to ensure that children stay on pace with the rest of the class. Sight word assessment Friday children should be able to recognize all the sight words given up to this point.

Reminders
The Reading Program will begin this week and I will have a sheet in the classroom for parents to give their email. It is imperative that children do their homework on a daily basis to ensure their academic progress please look at the blog for hw pages etc. Quizzes will be sent home on Monday for parents to look over and sign. If you see an index card in your child's hw folder that will indicate sight words they did not recognize when assessed. If your child does not have one in their hw then this indicated they recognized all the sight words given up until last week. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.  A reminder gym is every Tuesday unless otherwise indicated, children should be in gym uniform. Fridays are usually dress down days meaning children can come with regular clothes with a purchase of a nut card in the tuition office or $1.00

Early Dismissal Friday September 19,2014 at 12:00noon after-school program available if needed. Fridays unless otherwise stated are dress down days where children can wear clothing with the purchase of a nut card in the tuition office, sometimes we will collect it raise funds for the school but I will let you know. Reading and Math test on Thursday. Math numbers 1-5,Reading recognize rhyming words, recognizing letter and beginning letter sounds. Sight word test Friday be able to recognize the sight words not spell them.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
This year, our class will use the Superkids Reading Program, a core reading and language arts program designed for kindergarten through second grade. This program includes a parent portal, which contains information about the Superkids Reading Program and what your child will learn this year as well as activities your child can do at home.
Please fill out the form I will provide to you with your child's name and your e-mail addresses if you would like to set up a parent portal account. I will enter this information into my online class roster. 
To create your parent portal account, follow these steps:
1. Look for an e-mail from Superkids Reading Program.
2. Click the link in the e-mail. On the page that opens, create a password for your parent portal account.

Lesson Plans week of 9/8-9/12

Dear Parents/Guardians
I like to take this opportunity to remind you of a couple of things, children should be on time everyday at 8:00 am, I understand things happen but please remember it is imperative that we start class on time. Students should be in full uniform ties, shoes, sweaters, etc. All supplies should be in this week, forms should be filled out completely and handed back by this week Friday. The goal and expectation is that every child is reading by the end of Kindergarten in order for promotion into the next grade. If we work together then your child should progress academically with no issues. A reminder that all announcements, homework, and lesson plans will be available every week on the blog.

Supply List Academic School Year 2014-2015

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Below please find a list of the supplies your child will need in Kindergarten for the school year.
Supply list: Please label all of your child's supplies.

2 notebooks- Please purchase them in our school supply store as the lines on these notebooks make it easier for children learning penmanship (Make sure they are the blue ones in the school supply store)
Drawing pad ( Preferably a spiral notebook, with no lines) 
6 pocket folders - Please purchase these in the school supply store as these are sturdy and more durable (Please put your child’s name on all folders)
2 packs of #2 pencils (Triconderoga pencils only)
1 Sharpener
2 large erasers/ or pencil cap erasers
1 child friendly scissor
1 pencil case (Large enough to fit crayons, pencils, etc.)
2 packs of crayons
1 dry erase marker
1 pack of index cards 
6 glue sticks 
1 Activity book (Academic for e.g math practice, reading, phonics that is age appropriate)
2 boxes of Tissue
2 rolls of paper towels
2 Clorox or Lysol Disinfecting Wipes
1 Purell hand sanitizer
1 box of Ziploc bags ( gallon size)
A change of clothes (pants, shirt, underwear and socks in case of an accident.)*Please place clothes in a large Ziploc bag and label with your child’s name*

Throughout the school year I will inform you of any supplies that we might be running out of and your donations toward classroom supplies are always welcomed and appreciated.Thank you in advance for your help. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Reminders
End of Year Assessments are scheduled as the following Monday June 16, 2014 Religion, Science, and Social Studies exam then Tuesday June 17, 2014 Mathematics, Reading, and ELA.
Graduation is Thursday June 19,2014 Students should arrive around 10:30am and the graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00am, there is a limit of 3 people per graduation as this is a large class and we will not be able to accommodate a large crowd. Thank you  for your cooperation. A reminder school will be over for children on Wednesday June 18, 2014 is Kindergartens last day of school therefore no after school after this day.You may pick up your cap and gown at the tuition if your tuition is paid in full. The children may wear any clothing under their cap and gown no specific clothing is required.
On Wednesday June 18,2014 students are allowed to wear play clothes and are to give a small donation as this will be collected for the Orphanage in Haiti.
I would like to thank all the parents for their support throughout this school year, it was not easy with all the changes and challenges we faced but I could have not done it without your help and dedication to your children. May they all continue to flourish in the next grade. God Bless.

Friday June 13, 2014 Early Dismissal at 12.00 noon.  Friday  is also Shorts Day for Haiti, for the orphanage. Please remember to study with students for the End of Year exams and review math and phonics homework workbooks. Review sheets will be sent home on Tuesday June 10, 2014. We will also be reviewing in class this week.
