Lesson Plan 3/16-3/17

Reminders
School will be closed this week from 3/16-3/20 due to the COVID-19, please stay updated on the school blog for any changes, and stay alert for the school's iris alerts. Since we have switched gears on our students learning it is extremely important for parents to check the blog. I sent out username and passwords for google classroom with the students hw folders, as this will be our avenue to communicate and get the students to continue learning.

ELA- Log into Pearson realize and complete each assignment on or before the due date Sunday 3/22, assignments have been assigned on a daily basis. Unit 5 Module A (The Tiny Seed)
Eureka Math Module 4- One week of work has been stapled together from module 4 students should begin lesson 17 Problem Set and hw sheet and have them completed by Friday, students should complete through lesson 21 only, until further instructions are given
Religion- Students should listen to bible verses I have assigned and answer questions on Friday to resume what they have learned throughout the week.
Science- Students will have to click on a link to get on to discovery education to learn about animal habitats and watch a video and respond to some questions by Friday.
Social Studies - Students will also use discovery education to learn about people from other countries (Egypt and India)

Extra practice in ELA and Math packets have been prepared and may be picked up at the school office.
Math packet consists of- Eureka math practice with number bonds, addition and subtraction fluency practice.
ELA packet consists of- phonics practice using the correct words in a sentence, using words in a sentence, using words from a picture to write sentences with the short vowel I, working with plurals, identifying where capital letters should be in a sentence.
School remains closed until April and thus far will reopen on April 20, please be sure to check school blog to see any upcoming changes. Please be safe and God bless.

ELA assessment this week I will be assessing students individually on their reading fluency and based on this I will be assigning decodable books for students to take home to practice reading. Sight word assessment next week and a math quiz next week. School is closed Friday March 13.

Please check the blog to keep updated on changing circumstances, I will be posting classwork and homework via the blog. All students should also log into pearson realize and complete all assignments, Zearn.com as well as success maker.  Students will use google classroom to complete and turn in work to receive credit for their work. It is imperative that you log in daily Mon-Fri for classroom assignments and homework. Communication with me can be done through our virtual google classroom. Students have taken home the following textbooks to be done at home but you must only complete the pages assigned.

• Eureka Module 4 math text (in case we are closed longer than 1 week)
• Sadlier Phonics book

Please remember to keep safe during this time as I know it may be difficult but it is important that the students do not lose too much instruction time, please be responsible to work at home to make sure your children complete all work given.

Reminders
Monday March 2 we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Birthday and students may wear something related to Dr. Seuss no contest. Reading fluency test this week, I will test students individually to see how fluent they are in reading, it is imperative that they are practicing sight words every week and reading the decodable books from their Ready Gen phonics workbooks when assigned. Friday March 6 school closed.

Reminders
Re- registration is now open, this is a friendly reminder to register your child for the next academic school year. Valentine's Day musical presentation on Wednesday Feb.12 at 9:00am, students may wear a valentines day outfit or the color red or pink in celebration, parents are welcomed to join us. End of module 3 test on Tuesday Feb. 11, students should study comparing numbers as more/greater, less/fewer, or the same. Sight Word assessment will be given back on Monday Feb.10 please review, sign, and return. Thursday February 13 School will be closed for a regional conference and Friday February 14 School will be closed, Monday February 17 School closed for the President's Day. School will resume Tuesday February 18.  No new sight words this week as it is a short week.

Reminders
Monday February 3, prayer service at 9:00 am feast of St. Blaise with the blessing of the throats. Thursday February 6 is graduation picture day with cap and gown, children should be in full dress uniform and hair should be favorable to fit cap as they will be asked to use the cap for the pictures. Friday February 7 early dismissal at 12:00 noon. Sight word assessment on Thursday, review all sight words prior to this weeks. End of module 3 in Eureka math test will be given next week on comparing numbers more/greater, less/fewer, same.
