MAP testing continues on Tuesday, students will be tested in the area of reading. I have received some parent emails but still am missing many emails so I can invite you onto the google classroom platform. Please review sight words weekly with your child as it is imperative for them to learn these words.

Reminders

Friday is our scheduled gym day and students should be in full gym uniform with sneakers. All paperwork along with 2 emergency cards should be submitted this week as these are necessary. Homework should be bought back to school everyday, no homework is assigned on Fridays!!Please remember this blog is where homework will be assigned daily. Sight words will be posted on here and should be reviewed weekly to avoid students falling behind on monthly sight word assessments.

Have your child dictate a sentence to you and then you help them write it down, gives the child the opportunity to think for themselves as you help them with writing/spelling.

 Reminders

Friday September 16th opening school mass, parents are welcomed to join us but must sit at the back of the church. A reminder that Gym classes will be held on Fridays and students should be in full gym uniform with sneakers. This week I will be sending an index card with students school emails in order for students to access google classroom and compete assignments when assigned. It is imperative for parents to send back their email on an index card to be invited into the google classroom, so that you stay up to date with what assignments should be done. Homework will be assigned through here every evening, please make sure to check this blog daily for homework  assignments. Next week I will begin assigning sight words and it is imperative that your child review and practice them everyday during the week to ensure your child is reading by the end of kindergarten.

Supply List 2022-2023 Academic School Year

 Dear Parent/Guardians,

Please find in the list below the supplies your child will need for the kindergarten school year.
Supply List: Items listed in bold print should be purchased in the school supply store!!

1 blue primary grade notebook from the school supply store, any other notebook will not be accepted
6 pocket folders from the school supply store (any color is fine)
1 draw and write journal notebook available at staples or lakeshore
1 pack of Triconderoga pencils (thin) if child has issues with grip please purchase pencil grips
1 large eraser/ 1 pack of eraser tops
1 child friendly scissor
1 large pencil case to fit crayons, glue stick, pencils, scissor, erasers, etc.
2 packs of crayola crayons
1 small white board, 1 dry erase marker, 1eraser for the white board
1 pack of white index cards (100 at least) 
1 glue stick
2 ream of white printing paper
1 box of tissues
1 lysol or clorox dispensing wipes
1  pack of baby wipes(not mandatory)

1 can of Lysol disinfecting spray

1 pack of sandwich bags to ( these are to organize classroom manipulatives for each student)

1 pack of ziplock / hefty 2.5 gallon size bags /or jumbo),

A change of clothes is required (underwear, socks, pants, and shirt in case of accident/sick) please place these clothes in a large ziplock back and label it with your child's name.

 Reminders

Tuesday June 21 is a regular school day please send your child with a large shopping bag to send  home all there books and things. Wednesday June 22nd will be the kindergarten moving up ceremony, students should be arriving by 9:15am so that we can begin promptly at 10:00am. Students are to wear up clothes for the graduation. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. It has been truly my pleasure to work with each and every child and have the support of you the parents. Have a safe and wonderful summer break we hope to see you all back in September.

Monday and Tuesday students are to wear gym clothes with sneakers. FridayJune 17th school is closed and Monday June 19th school will be closed. No new sight words as we are ending the school year. I would like the students to practice all the sight words given up to this point.

No more homework!Students took their plants home that they planted and should be moved to a bigger pot. The workbooks taken in backpacks today are to stay home, please send a large shopping bag to send the rest of the students books on Tuesday. Graduation is Wednesday June 22nd students should arrive by 9:15am. Any questions or concerns please email me.

Friday June 10th school closed. Kindergarten moving up ceremony will be held Wednesday June 22nd at 10:00 am a maximum of three people per student will be allowed to attend due to the uprising of COVID cases in the school. There is no mandatory attire for the moving up ceremony but children should be dressed formally (dress clothes).
