Friday February 3rd, Mass at 10:00am parents are welcomed to join us. Early dismissal Friday Feb.3 for a faculty meeting. Math quiz on Friday on Module 3 Eureka math. Only three sight words this week. Next week parent teacher conference on Friday February 10, 2023 from 1pm-6pm, there will be no after school program and dismissal will be at 12:00 noon.

Sight word assessment this week as I was unable to assess the students last week. The students will be getting decodable books starting next week to practice their reading fluency skills. I have noticed that some students are not recognizing sight words previously taught in class therefore an extra emphasis will go into sight words and reading fluency. Please practice sight words at home. Next week Math quiz on comparing numbers and quantities less/fewer/ more/greater.

Many students are not turning any work via google classroom, these assignments are to help students in the area of reading comprehension and phonemic awareness. Reminders

MAP testing begins this week to measure how much the student shows growth in math and reading skills since they last took the test in the fall. Math test on measurement will be Wednesday Jan.11th, students should review length, height, weight and capacity. Early dismissal Friday January 13th at 12:00 noon, after school program is available if needed but will be an extra cost. Please ensure that you are reviewing sight words every evening with your child as I see in the classroom during class time that some students need extra practice.

School resumes Tuesday January 3rd. All students in Kindergarten must have the flu vaccine, the

document should be sent to the school office. Friday Feast of the Epiphany Mass at 10:00am parents welcomed to join us. Please remember that beginning next week students will now have four sight words per week, in order to reach the minimum of 100 sight words by the end of kindergarten.

Reminders

Please send a large shopping bag or garbage bag to pack up the students belongings for the Christmas break, all the students things will remain in school but we need a large bag to place all their things in to store away. Ugly Christmas sweater on Tuesday December 20th. Lessons and Carols will be held on Wednesday December 21st at 10:00 in the church, please join us if you can. Please make sure your child is wearing Christmas attire  or red, green or white for the lessons and carols on Wednesday. No after school or title 1 program on Wednesday Dec.21

Reminders

Unit 2 test in ELA students should be able to recognize sight words, comprehension, beginning letter sound and medial sounds, test will be administered on Thursday December 15th. This week I will be taking donations for the Christmas party that will be held Wednesday December 21st. You can donate a bag of chips, or cookies, but I will like to coordinate so we don't have too many things or the same things, thank you in advance. Next week we will have ugly sweater day on Tuesday December 20th and on Wednesday December 21st the students will do a carol in the church that will begin promptly at 10:00am students should wear something for Christmas or the Christmas colors of red, green, or white.
