Reminders
I have assigned a number of assignments on front row and a number of students have not yet logged and done any assignments, for the exception of the students that were previously in Ms.Coello's class, students have now been placed on my front row roster now they can catch up. This type of work is to benefit your child and if assignments are not completed it may hinder their academics and grade. I have also attached another link to pearsonrealize.com so that you may access, I have previously posted on blog and minimal work was done by the students. It is imperative that children follow up on work assigned.
Tuesday December 19, the 8th grade students will be having a bake sale if you would like to help out you may send your child with at least $1.00 to buy something from the bake sale again all proceeds are to help fund their graduation. Lessons and Carols @ 8:30 am in the church parents are welcomes to join us, students should wear red or green. I am still collecting $4.00 for the class Christmas party if you have not yet contributed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Tuesday November 21, 2017 Early dismissal at 12:00 noon for Parent teacher conferences that will be held from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. Thanksgiving Mass Wednesday November 22, 2017 students to wear dress clothes no jeans or sneakers. I would like to have a Thanksgiving lunch for the children on Wednesday, donations are welcomed. Last day for canned donations Monday Nov.20, thank you to all the parents to contributed to the can drive. Last day of regular class and after school program is Wednesday June 21. Graduation ceremony will be held Thursday June 22, 2017 at 11:00 am students are to arrive at 10:15am.
Parents can still pick up the students cap and gowns if you have not done so already, in the tuition office with Mrs. Resto if tuition is paid. Please send your child each day with their backpacks as they will be taking their books home this week before Thursday. I want to remind parents and guardians to remember to please have your child read over the summer break. Have a wonderful summer break, best of luck to all the students in their new grade.

We are back into full swing this week, I hope you all had a restful and joyful break. Classroom schedules have changed but our Gym day will still be on Wednesday so students should be in full gym uniform with sneakers. I hope all the students were able to review sight words given up to this point as it is imperative for your child's progress academically. If you were unable to see me during parent- teacher conferences and would like to speak to me about your child's report card please schedule an appointment with Alba and notify me to confirm the date and time, it will be greatly appreciated.

ELA Test domain 4 on Plants, Wednesday 4/5. Spring Show on Thursday at 9:00 am parents are invited to join us, students should be in dress clothes please. Thursday we will have a class party in light on the Easter holiday, I will be collecting $3.00. I will also be collecting plastic shopping bags because students desks will be emptied and books will be stored in classroom for the break. Spring break will be April 10 thru April 21, School Resumes April 24. Early Dismissal at 12:00 noon, parent teacher conference will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm sharp.
No new sight words will be introduced this week, please make students to sure to review all sight words given up to this point. Vacation packets will be given for students to do over the spring break. Have a safe and joyful Easter break.

Stations of the cross are held on Fridays at 10:30 am in the Church parents are welcomed to join us. Thursday March 2, Dr Seuss Birthday and dress up day if you wish for your child to participate they should be dressed in a Dr Seuss character contest will be held at 1:30pm. Progress reports, MAP testing reports will be sent home Friday March 3. Black history month Assembly scheduled for Wednesday February 22 at 9:00 am in which the class will present their Martin Luther King Jr. poems please be sure to continue to practice with them. SuperKids dress up day scheduled for Tuesday February 28, where students will have the choice of dressing up as their favorite super kid character, parents are to come up with ideas to try and look as similar as possible. A contest will be set up for this day at 1:30. Students wishing to participate in contest should be dressed as the superkid character not a hippie as this will only apply to the other grades. Feel free to ask questions if you are uncertain about this school event.

Reminders
Midterms this week in ELA and Math. Blending sheets will be sent home this week as these are an important tool to help students learn how to read. Please be aware in the next coming week I plan on sending decodable books inside a ziplock bag for students to begin reading, it is imperative that you are responsible for returning books back to the classroom so that I can exchange books on a weekly basis.

Please see school blog for exam days and date. Progress reports will be sent home Friday January 6, please check your child's backpack. Beginning next week sight words will be listed as 4 words instead of 3 as we are moving through the year quickly and steadily.
