Lesson Plan 12/8-12/12

Religion
Monday
Aim: Discuss the preparation for Christmas as we await for birthday of Jesus Christ a very special celebration.
Tuesday
Aim: Advent prepares us for the celebration of Jesus, and discuss more in detail what advent means what it represents.
Wednesday
Aim: Discuss the way in which each of our families prepare for Christmas.
Draw what Christmas looks like in your home.
Thursday
Aim: Discuss how the church prepares for the coming of Christ in Christmas time.
Friday
Aim: Review Christmas preparation
Class Activity: Make a glitter star to represent the stars of Bethlehem as Jesus was born.
Math
Monday
Aim: Addition readiness, students will learn to understand addition as the joining of two groups.
Students will learn to describe the effect of joining sets of objects, I will use the number line in order to demonstrate how we add objects together
Tuesday
Aim: Students will learn to add 1 to numbers 1 through 4, using manipulative
Wednesday
Aim: Continue adding numbers 0 through 5 using manipulative
Thursday
Aim: Adding continued, counting numbers 0 through 6 using manipulative
Friday
Aim: Adding continued, numbers 0 through 7, using manipulative

Language Arts
Monday
Aim: Students will be introduced to the letter of the week letter J. Learn sound and words with letter J, continue building language skills by completing sentences with letter J.
Tuesday
Aim: Students will work on recognizing the letter J in upper and lowercase form, learn more words with J, by building their vocabulary.
Wednesday
Aim: Students will begin tracing and sky writing the letter J. Continuing to build their vocabulary, read aloud a book.
Thursday
Aim: Students begin to practice writing the letter J inside the lines, followed by a letter hunt with objects or words that begin with J.
Friday
Aim: Review our letter of the week. Discuss that there is a beginning, middle, and end in a story. Read aloud a book of the students’ choice.
Science
Monday
Aim: Learn to identify three of a kind, compare and sort physical attributes of animals.
View pictures of animals that are sorted by the same attributes.
Tuesday
Aim: Learn what animals are of the same kind for example birds, insects, and reptiles etc.
Class discussion on our findings, and I will be asking them what animals should be grouped together.
Wednesday
Aim: Students will identify animals by looking at their physical attributes or similarities that might point out they should be of the same kind. Looking or paying attention to animals with feathers, wings, or animals that can fly are going to help them determine whether they should be grouped together.
Thursday
Aim: Continue to identify animals of the same kind. Begin to sort animals of the same kind them on an activity page.
Friday
Aim: Review animals of the same kind and discuss what we learned this week on physical attributes.
Social Studies
Monday
Aim: Students will begin to learn that certain things belong in certain places just as people have their place on the earth.
Tuesday
Aim: Students begin to identify who, what, and where it belongs.
Wednesday
Aim: Students will be shown pictured and they are to identify where they belong.
Thursday
Aim: Students will continue discussing things that belong by giving examples using their prior knowledge on the whereabouts of things.
Friday
Aim: Review the belongingness of objects
Draw a picture of things that belong in a place familiar to the student
