Lesson Plan 2/2 thru 2/6

Religion
Monday
Aim: Continue learning about the bible and its meaning to us
Read aloud bible verses
Tuesday
Aim: Review the bible and the many stories of God’s great love for us.
Color picture, read a bible verse aloud
Wednesday
Aim: Students will be learning about god’s gift of our self. We will discuss our physical abilities; five senses, and mental capabilities.
Thursday
Aim: Learning more about God’s gift of life, and its connection to reading the bible.
Discuss god’s creation including people.
Friday
Aim: Review the bible and all the creations of god that we have discussed thus far in our book Discovering God’s World. Then we will have a prayer giving thanks to god for creating us.

Math
Monday
Aim: Continue learning subtraction (take away 2)
Students will learn to understand and represent subtraction as a separating action
Progress in mathematics book pg.94
Tuesday
Aim: Subtraction readiness to subtract 3 from numbers 3 through 9 using manipulative
Progress in mathematics book pg.95
Wednesday
Aim: Students will learn to make graphs for physical objects using picture graphs
Thursday
Aim: Continue picture graphs, and to identify the purpose of a picture graph
Friday
Aim: Review subtraction and picture graphs
Students should be able to collect, organize and interpret data

Language Arts
Monday
Aim: Students will be learning to listen to literature and recognize that books have an author and illustrator. Introduce the letter of the week P.
Tuesday
Aim: Continue working on listening skills. Read aloud followed by tracing the letter P.
Wednesday
Aim: Listening skills cont’d
Read aloud, practice writing the letter P
Thursday
Aim: Listening skills continued
Ask questions about the book read aloud, begin to practice writing words that begin with P
Friday
Aim: Review the letter P, read aloud followed by questions and answers about the title and author of the book

Science
Monday
Aim: Students will begin to learn about the life cycles; patterns of reproduction, evolution and equilibrium.
Tuesday
Aim: Students will be understanding animal life cycles, learn that animals grow because they are living. Color, cut and paste
Wednesday
Aim: Continue learning animal life cycles, discuss the process for some animals are different that others.
Thursday
Aim: Students continue learning animal life cycles; discuss how animals are born and their growth process.
Friday
Aim: Review animal life cycles, discuss life span for animals has different ranges
Read aloud followed by questions and answers

Social Studies
Monday
Aim: Students will be learning how people demonstrate the value of sharing and caring
Tuesday
Aim: Students will learn to recognize that each person needs to be loved and learn the value of love in our own life.
Wednesday
Aim: Students will continue to learn the values of life, discuss where we learn these values from.
Thursday
Aim: Students will discuss their own values and traditions they have or perform in their home or life. Discuss how families differ one from another.
Friday
Aim: Review the values and traditions that we share in our families, and how they occur from one generation to the next and how sometimes they change from person to person.
