Week of 9/28-10/2

Reminders
Friday October 2, 2015 Mass at 9:00am blessing of the animals if you child has a pet that is not a dog or cat they may bring it in otherwise dogs and cats must be bought to mass by an adult and taken back home after the mass, parents are welcomed to join us. Also Friday October 2 is Early Dismissal at 12 noon after-school program available if needed. Math Quiz on Wednesday on counting numbers 1-5, identifying numbers 1-5,  and writing numbers 1-5. Sight word test Thursday. The art teacher has requested a smock or old t-shirt for art class on Thursday, it will remain in the classroom until end of year.

Reminders
Friday September 25, 2015 school is closed. A reminder all paperwork was due last Monday, I am still missing a number of paperwork from some students. It is necessary for each student to have two emergency cards one goes to school office and the other stays in classroom.

Reminders
Please make sure you are signing in and out your child every morning at drop off and every afternoon for pick up. Mass Tuesday September 15, 2015 at 9:00 am students are to be in full uniform, parents are invited to join us. Early Dismissal Friday September 18, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Vocabulary should be reviewed at home every evening as well as sight words to ensure your child succeeds academically in kindergarten. Vocabulary also gives a glimpse of what we will be working on in class ,special attention should be paid since lesson plans will not be available for parents/guardians to see. Gym on Wednesday, gym uniform with sneakers please.

Week of 9/9-9/11

Welcome Back

Dear Parents/Guardians

Arrival and Dismissal students should be signed in and signed out daily. Students should bring snack unless otherwise noted, healthy snacks are a plus, absolutely no candy or soda is allowed. Homework will be given daily and should be checked on blog daily , backpacks should also be checked every evening to ensure your informed about any notifications sent home. Gym will be every Wednesday and students should be in full gym uniform unless otherwise noted. As part of OLQM’s advancement in technology, daily lesson plans, homework and other important advisories will be posted on the school’s blog at olqmnyc.blogspot.com. There is a new lesson plan program, therefore lessons will not be posted until beginning of 2016.


  • Students are to expected to arrive on time, with the exception of doctor's appointments etc. if your child is late they will need to obtain a late pass from the office before entering to class.
  • Absent note/ documentation is required if your child will not be in present. (Otherwise it will be documented as an illegal absence from school.
  • All test must be signed and retuned on the next day.
  • Students are to be in full uniform unless otherwise noted.
  • All homework should be completed, if your child missed school they can make it up, otherwise they will receive a grade of zero.



If we work together your child should adjust nicely, it is imperative that you work with your child at home. The goal and expectation is that every child is reading and writing by the end of kindergarten. I hope for a wonderful school year and I look forward to working with your children.
