Reminders
Friday September 25, 2015 school is closed. A reminder all paperwork was due last Monday, I am still missing a number of paperwork from some students. It is necessary for each student to have two emergency cards one goes to school office and the other stays in classroom.

Please make sure you are signing in and out your child every morning at drop off and every afternoon for pick up. Mass Tuesday September 15, 2015 at 9:00 am students are to be in full uniform, parents are invited to join us. Early Dismissal Friday September 18, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Vocabulary should be reviewed at home every evening as well as sight words to ensure your child succeeds academically in kindergarten. Vocabulary also gives a glimpse of what we will be working on in class ,special attention should be paid since lesson plans will not be available for parents/guardians to see. Gym on Wednesday, gym uniform with sneakers please.

Week of 9/9-9/11
Welcome Back
Dear Parents/Guardians
Arrival and Dismissal students should be signed in and signed out daily. Students should bring snack unless otherwise noted, healthy snacks are a plus, absolutely no candy or soda is allowed. Homework will be given daily and should be checked on blog daily , backpacks should also be checked every evening to ensure your informed about any notifications sent home. Gym will be every Wednesday and students should be in full gym uniform unless otherwise noted. As part of OLQM’s advancement in technology, daily lesson plans, homework and other important advisories will be posted on the school’s blog at olqmnyc.blogspot.com. There is a new lesson plan program, therefore lessons will not be posted until beginning of 2016.
If we work together your child should adjust nicely, it is imperative that you work with your child at home. The goal and expectation is that every child is reading and writing by the end of kindergarten. I hope for a wonderful school year and I look forward to working with your children.

- Students are to expected to arrive on time, with the exception of doctor's appointments etc. if your child is late they will need to obtain a late pass from the office before entering to class.
- Absent note/ documentation is required if your child will not be in present. (Otherwise it will be documented as an illegal absence from school.
- All test must be signed and retuned on the next day.
- Students are to be in full uniform unless otherwise noted.
- All homework should be completed, if your child missed school they can make it up, otherwise they will receive a grade of zero.

Supply List 2015-2016
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Below please find a list of the supplies your child will need in Kindergarten for the school year.

6 pocket folders - Please purchase these in the school supply store as these are sturdy and more durable (Please put your child’s name on all folders)
1 draw and write journal notebook/notepad
2 packs of #2 pencils (ticonderoga pencils only)
1 large eraser/ or eraser tops
1 child friendly scissor
1 pencil case (Large enough to fit crayons, pencils, etc.)
2 packs of crayons
1 dry erase marker
1 pack of index cards
4 glue sticks
1 Activity book(Spectrum workbook for e.g math, reading, phonics that is grade appropriate)
2 Reams of white printing paper
2 boxes of tissue
2 rolls of paper towels
2 Clorox or Lysol Disinfecting Wipes
1 Purell hand sanitizer
1 box of Ziploc bags ( gallon size)
A change of clothes (pants, shirt, underwear and socks in case of an accident.)*Please place clothes in a large Ziploc bag and label with your child’s name*

Weekly Reminders for 6/15-6/19
Reminders
Graduation for Kindergarten is Thursday June 18, 2015, students should arrive at 10:00 as the ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 am, students should have full cap and gown attire. Please if you have not turned in books inside of the baggies please do so no later than Wednesday of this week I am missing books from 4 children. No homework but please ensure that your child is practicing their reading and math skills, you may still have access to IXL and Rowland Reading program. Other websites or workbooks are helpful to help strengthen their skills for the next grade. Students will be taking their class workbooks home this week we will send some books each day they are for them to keep. Please make sure to check their book bags daily so that they are emptied out and are not carrying an overload of books and materials.
Ms.Alma the music teacher would like invite parents to a free concert event in Van Cortland Park in the Bronx on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 8:00 pm.
If you have any questions about anything please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you very much for your continued support and help it has been wonderful working with all the children in the class, Have a safe and wonderful summer, we hope to see you back in September.

Friday June 12, 2015 school will be closed. Kindergarten graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday June 18, 2015 students are to arrive by 10 am the ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00am. Cap and gown will be available for pick up this week once all tuition fees are paid in full, otherwise your child may not participate in graduation ceremony. June 18, 2015 will be the last of school for the kindergarten students. Picture day for girls only, since there were a number of complaints about the girls pictures the company will be here Thursday June 11, 2015 to re take pictures of girls in Kindergarten class girls should have their hair down, they girls may wear dress clothes but need to bring school uniform shirt in a separate bag so they can just put it on for the picture. If you would like please send a brush or comb and aides will assist in grooming hair before picture.
Thursday June 11, 2015 children may wear clothing but it must be dress clothes no jeans or sneakers. and bring in $1.00 donation.
