Lesson Plans 1/11-1/15

Reminders
Monday January 18, 2016 school closed for Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday. There are two links below one to view lesson plans for the week,  the other link is a review guide for next weeks midterm exams in ELA and Math, the review sheet will be ready before end of week. Schedule changes are being made I will inform you via this blog please make sure to check each day for up to date information regarding schedule changes. Gym classes will be Wednesday's only, students should be in full gym uniform with sneakers, no exceptions.

ordinary-normal or usual : not unusual, different
saint-a person who is officially recognized by the Christian church as being very holy because of the way he or she lived
watch-to look at (someone or something) for an amount of time and pay attention to what is happening
clock- a device that shows what time it is and that is usually placed in a room or attached to a wall
time-the thing that is measured as seconds, minutes, hours, days, years, etc.
Reading
worried-feeling or showing fear and concern because you think that something bad has happened or could happen
embarrassed- to make (someone) feel confused and foolish in front of other people
relieved- feeling relaxed and happy because something difficult or unpleasant has been stopped, avoided, or made easier : feeling relief
trampoline-a piece of equipment that has a sheet of strong cloth attached by springs to a metal frame and that is used for jumping up and down for exercise or as a sport
tangerine- a small, sweet fruit that is like an orange with a loose skin which is easy to remove
tap shoes- special shoes with metal plates on the heels and toes and make tapping sounds with your feet

Social Studies
African American- dark skinned people called black people, whose early relatives are known to have come from Africa
civil rights- the equal rights of every citizen in the country
society-people in general thought of as living together in organized communities with shared laws, traditions, and values
speaker- someone who talks about something to a group of people
Science
senses- one of the five natural powers (touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing) through which you receive information about the world around you
taste- the flavor of something
