Religion
diversity-the quality or state of having many different forms, types, ideas, etc.
appreciation-a feeling of being grateful for something
Reading
include- to make (someone or something) a part of something
ruin-to damage (something) so badly that it is no longer useful, valuable, enjoyable, etc. : to spoil or destroy (something)
bait-something (such as a piece of food) that is used to attract fish or animals so they can be caught
dock- an area of water in a port where ships are loaded, unloaded, or repaired
pier-a structure that goes out from a shore into the water

Piers are typically used as a place for ships to load and unload people or things or as a place where people can walk.
Mathematics
longer- having greater length
shorter- having lesser height or length
taller- having a greater height
same height- not taller or shorter; having heights that match
same length- not longer and not shorter; having the lengths that match
ELA
acorn-The seed of an oak tree
character-The person or animal that a story is about
den-A cave-like home of some wild animals 
fiction-A type of book or story that has imaginary characters and events
sly-Sneaky and secretive
blazing- Hot and shining brightly
chimney- A hollow passage through which smoke escapes from a building
huff-To blow air or breathe in and out heavily
plot-The events of a story
puff-To make a sudden gust of smoke, air, breath, or wind 
Social Studies
grade- a year or class in school
subjects- different things to study, such as art, reading, music, or math
grammar school- a school also known as an elementary school grades k-5
Science
Lighting- a thin, bright light you see in the sky during some storms
Storm- weather with snow or rain and a lot of wind
Weather- how hot or cold it is outside and what it is like outside in other ways

Students will have blending sheets sent in their hw folders to keep at home so they can practice putting the sounds of the letters to form a word
