Lesson Plan 12/3-12/7

Reminders
Tuesday math test on Module 2 on two and three dimensional shapes, students should be able to identify the name and shape and know about the shape for e.g. number of corners or sides, and or flat surfaces, or curved etc. Students should be practicing sight words on a weekly basis so that they ensure academic progress. This week I will be sending books in a ziplock bag in hopes that students begin to practice their reading skills and become fluent readers by the end of Kindergarten. Mass on Friday December 7 at 9:00 am Feast of the Immaculate Conception, parents welcomed to join us.

This week we will be learning the following concepts
ELA- Compare and contrast non fiction text "Farming Then and Now" and The Old Things". Introduce Unit 3 Module A read aloud "Come On, Rain!" . on line testing on Pearsonrealize on the texts mentioned above.
Math- Measurement of comparing length and weight
Religion- To present Jesus as the Light of the World and discuss the Advent season as a time to prepare for the coming of Jesus birth.
Science- Learning about Weather and Seasons
Social Studies- Learn about the times of Christopher Columbus and his journey around the world
